Why Consultant Verification Matters

Many organisations have faced issues due to unqualified or uninsured operators. CertBetter verification ensures only legitimate, qualified and insured consultants are recognised within the industry.

Verification Requirements

  • Business Registration: Valid business registration -- ABN (AU), Companies House registration (UK), EIN or LLC registration (US), or BN (CA). Business name must be consistent across all submitted documents.
  • Business Address: Must be a physical street address matching insurance documents. PO Box addresses are not accepted.
  • Insurance: Minimum Professional Indemnity of A$1M / GBP 1M / US$1M (or local currency equivalent) and Public Liability of equivalent value. Policies must be current, denominated in your local currency, and issued under the verified business name.
  • Qualifications: Training or certification for each ISO standard claimed. Providers must be accredited and clearly named.
  • Business Capability Statement: A document outlining consulting services and sector expertise.
  • Professional Background: A current resume or public LinkedIn profile demonstrating relevant ISO consulting experience.

Consulting Evidence

  • At least one (1) direct client review confirming ISO consulting services delivered in the past 12 months.
  • Reviews must reflect actual consulting engagements and align with the verified scope.
  • Reviews can be requested by sharing your business profile link or using the "Request Review" option in the dashboard.
  • No existing reviews? New applicants may be granted Provisional Verification for up to 12 months. Provisional status carries full badge and certificate rights. At least one client review must be submitted within that period to maintain Verified status.
IMPORTANT: Verification is not accreditation and must NOT be presented as a technical endorsement or any form of guarantee. Read more about: Consultant Verification Scheme Terms

Review andOutcome

Review Process

  • When a consultant joins the platform on Professional or higher membership, they can apply for verification via Dashboard.
  • Once the verification form is submitted, CertBetter assesses all submitted documents, insurance, qualifications, and client reviews.
  • Processing typically occurs within 2-4 business days after a complete submission. Complex or higher-risk cases may take longer.
  • If needed, a Request for Information (RFI) will be issued with a response timeframe.
  • Status updates and queries are available via live chat or email.
  • Personal and business data are handled in line with our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Outcome

  • Approved: Verification Certificate issued; CertBetter Trust Badge activated; usage guidelines provided.
  • RFI: Additional information required before a final decision.
  • Pending: Decision postponed pending specified evidence or conditions.
  • Declined: Reasons provided where appropriate; re-application allowed once issues are addressed.
Note: Approval activates the badge for the verified legal entity and scope only.

After Approval

  • Add the badge to approved locations and follow the usage rules below.
  • If approved with Provisional status, submit at least one client review within 12 months to retain Verified status. Reviews can be collected via your dashboard.
  • Keep documents current and submit renewals annually or when they change (e.g. insurance, scope, training).
Verification is renewed annually. Failure to maintain document currency or review requirements may lead to suspension or revocation.
